I cannot even begin to tell you how many times I have heard clients tell me what they think they should be doing, parents telling me how their future NHL star should be training, or even trainers fresh out of a weekend fitness course and full of enthusiasm correcting my techniques and methods. “We have been doing this for 3 weeks now – what’s next?” or, “I think he needs this or that.” or “You’re doing that exercise wrong…I saw how it should be done on youtube!” or “I’m bored of doing these same old exercises.” Access to too much information can be a bad thing. There is a multitude of “experts” out there and a million ways to succeed. The complication is a sure route to failure. The surest way achieve your goals are to minimize your activities. “Jack of all trades, master of none.”
“Success comes from the repetition of mundane tasks”
I am approached almost daily with the newest gadgets, the newest fad program or youtube exercises which will speed up the rate to which you will achieve all of your health and fitness goals. Better results! Faster results!Well, in the past 40 years, I have seen it all, heard it all and done most, and I can categorically tell you that the simplest things have always been the best and stood the test of time. The foundation of my programs has stood for the past 40 years. My most successful clients (and I) do what I did as a teenager still to this day. The ones that complain the least get the best results.
